The 30th Anniversary Conference for the Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA) Was a Great Success
Hoffman Estates, Illinois, May 21, 2018 The Center for Association Resources (The Center) delivered a very successful conference for the Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA), an association who focuses on special needs dentistry patients.
The conference, held in late April 2018, celebrated the 30th anniversary of the association and was hosted in the beautiful city of Seattle, WA. Over 300 dentists, hygienists, students, and residents attended the international conference, an increase of 12% over previous years. The conference featured geriatric, hospital dentistry, disabilities, communication, and prevention tracks as well as featured speakers, focus groups, case studies, and roundtables.
“I want to thank SCDA for the opportunity to work with them and put together to put a very successful meeting. The teamwork and dedication paid off with attendees saying that the conference was well-organized, had valuable content, that they had made great networking contacts, and had some fun, too!” said SCDA Executive Director Beth Weinstein.
More than four fifths of the attendees said they learned something that they could immediately apply in their practice. Exhibitors also had a successful conference; one exhibitor said “We highly recommend this meeting for anyone who is looking to connect with professionals in the industry… the quality of contacts at this show were very impressive.” Ninety percent of attendees spent some time in the exhibit hall.

The Center for Association Resources Welcomes Association Executive Director Michael Thompson
Hoffman Estates, Illinois, December 11, 2017 The Center for Association Resources (The Center) announced that the Michael Thompson has joined the firm and will serve as Executive Director of a large medical association.
“Mike has served in senior membership management and director roles for several physician organizations” explained Robert O. Patterson, CEO/Principal of The Center for Association Resources. “That, combined with his experience in business development for multiple healthcare firms, and five years leading an implementation team for a new ERP and business intelligence system, gives him a strong background for this role. Mike is a great addition to our team and we look forward to his work with our client to achieve their business goals.”
Mike is a Chicago native who now lives in the far-western suburb of Huntley, IL. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Speech Communication and Journalism.
